Healthy Viral Date Caramel Apple

Ingredients
  • 1 cup hot water (to soften the dates in (optional if your dates are firm or cold. Soak them for a few minutes prior to soften up!))
  • 9 dates (organic, pitted medjool)
  • 1 tbsp cashew butter (organic)
  • 100 g dark chocolate (organic dark chocolate - I like the brand Hu. Super clean!)
  • 2 apples (of choice)
Instructions

    Prep the Dates: Line a flat surface with parchment paper. Arrange your 9 pitted Medjool dates in three rows of three, close together.

    Roll Them Out: Place another sheet of parchment paper on top and use a rolling pin to flatten the dates into a thin sheet β€” just large enough to wrap around your apple.

    Wrap the Apple: Remove the top parchment sheet. Place your apple in the center of the flattened dates. Use the bottom parchment to help guide and press the dates up around the apple until they stick snugly. Gently peel off the parchment once it’s wrapped.

    Chill: Place the wrapped apple in the freezer for about 5–10 minutes while you prepare the chocolate coating.

    Make the Chocolate Coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, add about 100g of dark chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon of cashew butter. Melt in 20-second increments, stirring between each, until smooth and glossy.

    Dip or Drizzle: Insert a skewer into the apple and drizzle or spoon the melted chocolate evenly over the top until fully coated.

    Add Toppings: Before the chocolate hardens, sprinkle on your favorite toppings β€” nuts, pretzels, coconut, or sea salt are all delicious options.

    Set and Enjoy: Freeze for about 5 minutes to let the chocolate firm up, then enjoy immediately!
