What You Will Need

  • Ripe Avocado - You want your avocado(s) to be ripe or you will not get the right texture! I used one giant Florida avocado but if you can't get those you can use 2 large hass avocados.
  • Cocoa Powder - 2/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder or raw cacao powder.
  • Maple Syrup - 1/3 cup of sugar free maple syrup, or any liquid sweetener you prefer.
  • Stevia/Swerve - 2-3 teaspoons of stevia, swerve, or other sweetener of choice.
  • Vanilla Extract - 1 teaspoon.
  • Salt - Just a pinch!
  • Almond Milk - Just a splash of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, or until you get your desired consistency.

  2. If the dip is too thick, add a splash of almond milk until you get your desired consistency. Serve with your favorite fruit and enjoy!

What is the Difference Between Cacao Powder & Cocoa Powder?

Cacao is the purest form of chocolate you can consume. It is the minimally processed form of the cacao bean, while cocoa is the processed form the bean. Cocoa powder is roasted at a much higher temperature and typically supplemented with additives to cut the bitterness (unless it is unsweetened generally speaking). Raw cacao powder maintains the nutritionally dense properties of the cacao seed. There is no huge difference between cacao powder and unsweetened cocoa powder other than that cacao powder will have higher antioxidant properties & nutrients because it is unprocessed. Cacao powder will also be a tad more bitter, so if you use cacao powder I would suggest adding a little more sweetener to your dip!

How To Store It

Store this dip in an air tight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
