Alternatives

Protein Boost: If you’d like to add some protein, grilled chicken or sausage would pair perfectly with this creamy tomato sauce.

Add Veggies: If you want to sneak in some extra veggies, try adding spinach, zucchini, or bell peppers to the sauce.

How To Make It

  1. Melt the butter in a large wok or skillet set over medium-high heat. (Be sure it has a lid).
  2. Add the garlic & sauté for 1 minute, or until fragrant. Add the tomato paste and stir for 30 seconds.
  3. Next, add the tomato sauce, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, & salt and pepper to taste. Stir until the tomato paste is all dissolved in the sauce.
  4. Stir in the cream (or whichever milk you decide to use). Stir in the tortellini, then reduce heat to medium. Cover the pan, and cook for 8 minutes, or until the tortellini is warmed throughout. Serve immediately away with freshly grated Parmesan and fresh basil if desired. Enjoy!
