Ingredients

For The Steak

  • Sirloin Steak – 24 ounces (1.5 lbs.) of sirloin steak, cut into thin strips.
  • Soy Sauce – 2 teaspoons of low sodium soy sauce.
  • Garlic Salt & Pepper – To taste.
  • Cornstarch – 1 tablespoon

For The Stir Fry

  • Olive Oil – Just a drizzle to cook your steak in. If you use a HexClad, you don’t need that much oil at all!
  • Yellow Onion – 1/4 of a medium yellow onion, sliced.
  • Minced Ginger – 1 teaspoon of fresh minced ginger, or to taste.
  • Minced Garlic – I used 1 teaspoon of minced garlic but measure with your heart!
  • Red Bell Pepper – 1 red bell pepper, sliced into thin strips. You can use any color of bell pepper.
  • Broccoli – 10 ounces of chopped broccoli florets.
  • Carrots – 1 large full sized carrot stick, grated.

** Feel free to switch up any of the veggies as you wish!

For the Sauce:

  • Beef Broth – 1 cup.
  • Soy Sauce – 1 1/2 tablespoons of low sodium soy sauce.
  • Ponzu Sauce – 1 tablespoon. You can also just use additional soy sauce. I find that Ponzu sauce gives more of a tang and the citrus flavors in it really make the sauce!
  • Brown Swerve – I used 1 tablespoon of brown Swerve to add some sweetness! It you aren’t familiar with Serve, it is a zero-calorie, low-glycemic sweetener that measures cup-for-cup to sugar. It’s completely safe and natural, with no artificial ingredients, preservatives or flavors. It is safe for diabetics and Keto approved. You can purchase Swerve off of Amazon here.

How To Make It

  1. In a bowl combine the sirloin, 2 tsp soy sauce, ponzu sauce, and garlic salt & pepper to taste. Stir well and set aside.
  2. In a measuring cup make your sauce by combining the beef broth, soy sauce, and brown swerve. Set aside.
  3. Heat up a large wok over medium/high heat with a drizzle of olive oil. I used the HexClad 14” hybrid wok. Your life will change when you switch over to HexClad let me tell ya!
  4. Add your steak to the wok and cook for about 2 minutes on each side (it will cook more later on). Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  5. Add your onion, ginger, and garlic to your wok. Sauté until fragrant.
  6. Now add in your broccoli, shredded carrot, and red bell pepper. Cook until your desired doneness.
  7. Add the sirloin back into the wok and give everything a good stir. Add in your sauce and reduce to a simmer.
  8. Let simmer for 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and enjoy by itself or with some rice!

How To Store Leftovers

You can store your leftover sirloin stir fry in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. If you make rice with this stir fry I would recommend keeping the rice separate so that the juices don’t soak into the rice and take away flavor from your steak & veggies.
