This Chai Spiced Granola is packed with whole grains, nuts, and ALL the flavor! Plus, there is NO sugar! This recipe is fool-proof I promise. I love topping off my Greek yogurt parfaits with this granola. This recipe makes roughly 4 cups of granola. This is by far my favorite way to season my granola. Is season the right word to use? You know what I mean! To make the granola, I simply mixed together my go-to granola base, which includes oats, your choice of nuts, and coconut oil. Then I stirred in all of my chai spices and baked away!
I love making granola from scratch so that I know exactly what is going into it. Pre-packaged granola from your typical grocery store is packed with sugar, artificial flavors, and corn syrup. Yuck!

Ingredients
- Oats – You will need 2 cups of old fashioned rolled oats.
- Almonds – 1 cup chopped almonds.
- Pecans – 1/2 cup of pecans, chopped. My favorite pecans are by the brand Rancho Pecana. You can find them online and it’s so much cheaper to buy in bulk from them than in your local grocery store!
- Walnuts – 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts.
- Pepitas – 1/4 cup of lightly salted pepitas (pumpkin seeds with shells removed).
- Cinnamon – 2 teaspoons.
- Ginger – 1/8 teaspoon of ground ginger.
- Cardamom – 1 teaspoon.
- Allspice – 1 teaspoon.
- Sea Salt – 1/4 teaspoon.
- Coconut Oil – 1/4 cup of organic coconut oil, melted.
- Vanilla Extract – 1 teaspoon.
- Maple Syrup – 1/3 cup of sugar free maple syrup, or sweetener of choice. I like the brand Lakanto for my maple syrup because it is sweetened with monk fruit and has no Sucralose or artificial sweeteners!
- Brown Swerve – You can use any sweetener of choice or none at all (I used 2 tablespoons). I personally love to use Swerve because it is a zero-calorie, low-glycemic sweetener that measures cup-for-cup to sugar. It’s completely safe and natural, with no artificial ingredients, preservatives or flavors.
How To Make It
- Preheat your oven to 300°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients for the granola until all of the nuts and oats are fully coated.
- Spread into a thin, even layer on the baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- When the granola comes out of the oven, it will not be hardened yet. Wait until your granola has cooled completely. This is important. it should take about 30 minutes to cool.
- Break apart the granola with your hands into as big or small pieces as you would like. Enjoy as a snack or as a topping to your yogurt parfaits!
How To Store Leftovers
Store your leftover chai spiced granola in an airtight container or mason jars in a cool, dry place for up to 2 weeks. This granola most likely won’t even last you that long though! I always snack on this granola when I have the munchies. It is a great snack!
Nutritional Benefits
- Oats – Oats are one of the healthiest grains on earth. They’re gluten-free, whole grain, and a great source of important vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. Oats have been proven to be directly linked to weight loss, lower blood sugar levels, and a reduced risk of heart disease.
- Pecans – Pecans are a good source of calcium, magnesium, and potassium, which help lower blood pressure. Most of the fat found in pecans is a type called monounsaturated fat. Eating foods with monounsaturated fat can help lower levels of bad cholesterol. All of the other nus have other awesome benefits as well!
- Coconut oil – Some benefits of coconut oil include improved skin, oral health, and weight loss potential. The MCT’s in coconut oil have fat-burning properties!
