Reasons to Love These Banana Bars
- Quick & Easy: These are super and easy to make and require very minimal ingredients and equipment.
- No Added Sugar: Especially if you use a sugar free Greek Yogurt, the only sugar you have in these banana bars are the natural sugars from the bananas.
- Low Fat & Calorie: There are only 1.7 grams of fat per banana bar! These are also very low in calories for a sweet treat, being only 82 calories each.
Nutritional Benefits
- Bananas: Bananas contain a variety of different vitamins and minerals, but primarily magnesium, vitamin B6, and vitamin C. The magnesium can help your blood sugar and blood pressure levels.
- Oats: Oats are extremely nutritious! They are rich in antioxidants and fiber. They are known to also help lower your cholesterol levels.
- Greek Yogurt: Greek yogurt is a good source of protein, improved gut health, and can help boost your metabolism.
Ingredients
- Bananas – Easy guess right? You will need 3 small or 2 medium bananas, mashed.
- Greek Yogurt – 1/2 cup of plain, nonfat Greek yogurt. You could use a vanilla flavor if you would like as well! I would stick with a thick yogurt if you decide to use something other than Greek to get the right texture.
- Egg – 1 large egg.
- Brown Swerve – I used 1/4 cup of brown Swerve, which is my go-to when it comes to sugar alternatives. Swerve is a zero-calorie, low-glycemic sweetener that measures cup-for-cup to sugar. It’s completely safe and natural, with no artificial ingredients, preservatives or flavors. You can purchase Swerve off of Amazon here.
- Oat Flour– 1 cup of oat flour. I personally used the Oats Instant powder by Prozis for a fluffier texture. It is my go-to healthy flour substitute. You can also use the code KATIE10 for 10% off Prozis!
- Vanilla Extract – 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Salt – Just a pinch!
- Cinnamon – 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
- Baking Powder– 1 teaspoon, to help them fluff up even more!
- Chocolate Chips – 2 servings (28 grams) of Lily’s sugar free dark chocolate chips. You can use any sugar free chocolate chips, but I prefer these because they are naturally sweetened. The macros below assume this brand.
How To Make Them

Other Add-Ins
Here are some other add in’s to try out in these banana bars!
- Nuts – Walnuts would probably be best but you can use any kind!
- Sliced bananas, for an extra banana flavor.
- Melted Chocolate – You could melt additional sugar free chocolate over the top of the bars after they bake.
How To Store Leftovers
You can store your leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. When you are ready to enjoy them again, just pop them in the microwave for 30 seconds or so if you like them to be warm and gooey like me!
