Have you ever had the cashew clusters at Costco? Or the Kind brand Nut & Seed Clusters? They may taste good, but man are those ingredients scary! If you read the ingredients, you will find that they have all sorts of refined sugar sweeteners like brown rice syrup & cane sugar. I knew I could make something better. And so I did, and they are divine!

I used this silicone mini muffin tin to make them in fun & easy bite sized pieces, but you can also lay it out on a baking sheet and then break them apart into smaller pieces after baking. These are gluten, dairy, refined sugar free, and made with simple, wholesome ingredients. Feel free to switch up the nuts and seeds! If you like nutty sweets, be sure to try my Baklava Protein Cake as well. Happy baking!

seed & nut clusters

How To Make Them

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients and stir until all of the nuts and seeds are fully coated in the maple syrup.
  3. Divide the nut mixture among a silicone mini muffin pan. This is the one I have. You can also use a baking sheet and just break up the pieces afterwards.
  4. Bake for 18 minutes. Allow the nut clusters to cool COMPLETELY. This is super important. Place them in the fridge if you are dying to try them because your kitchen is going to smell so good hehe.

I added unsweetened coconut, but super impressed that it stays together so well. Delicious.

  4. Merilyn

This is a great recipe except 18 mins was far too much of oven time for me. At 16 mins my clusters were pretty browned. Hadn’t I pulled those out when I did those would be completely inedible

    • Katie

Hey Merilyn! I am glad you liked them! Everyone’s oven is a little different and some bake faster than others:)

  5. April

Great recipe. I used it with the nuts and seeds I had on hand. Perfectly sweet. Incredibly easy. Thanks for a wonderful recipe. It’s my first time on your blog and I’m excited to check out your other recipes.

    • Katie

I love to hear that! You can customize these in so many ways! Thanks so much for sharing:)

  6. Katie

    Hey Cathy,

I would spray them if you aren’t using a silicone mold to ensure that they do not stick. You do not need to refrigerate them either. Hope this helps!:)

  1. Cathy

If I use mini muffin pan do I need to spray the pan or use liners? Do they need to be refrigerated? I wanted to make them for a gift but have to mail them. Thanks
