Protein Oreo Balls

pinit

These easy, no bake Protein Oreo Balls require very minimal ingredients and are only 32 calories each (or 52 with a sugar free chocolate coating)! There are a great grab-and-go treat or dessert! There are 5 grams of protein per Oreo ball! I love the classic Oreo balls, but not all of the sugar, carbs, and calories that come with them so I created these! I hope you give this recipe a try and love them as much as I do!

Ingredients

  • Vanilla Protein Powder – Use 30 grams of your preferred protein powder. My personal favorite is the Prozis Natural Real Whey Protein Powder. You can use the code “KATIE10” for 10% off as well. I work closely with this brand and they are just the absolute best.
  • Cookies & Cream Protein Powder – My two favorite cookies & cream protein powders are by the brands Prozis and Flexible Dieting Lifestyle. The flavor is right on with both of these! You can get the Prozis Cookies & Cream Protein Powder here and use that same discount code above (KATIE10) for 10% off. You need 20 grams.
  • Cream Cheese– I used 2 tablespoons of low fat cream cheese for these.
  • Greek Yogurt – I felt like I needed a little but more liquid to make these Oreo balls more gooey so I used 1 tablespoon of plain, nonfat Greek yogurt.
  • Lily’s Sugar Free Chocolate Chips (Optional) – If you want to have a chocolate coating, you can melt some sugar free chocolate chips and dip your Oreo balls in them. I used 42 grams of the Lily’s sugar free dark chocolate chips.

How To Make Them

  1. Combine all ingredients (except for the chocolate of course) in a food processor. Pulse until fully incorporated.
  2. Roll out your dough into 9 evenly sized Oreo balls. Place in the refrigerator for 20 minutes or so to let them firm up.
  3. You can eat them just like this, or, melt some sugar free chocolate chips and coat each Oreo ball in the chocolate. Enjoy!

The Easiest Way to Melt the Chocolate

You can easily toss the chocolate in the microwave, but I feel like it is so hard to keep the chocolate melted long enough for you to work with it and dip all of your raspberries in it. If you decide to go this route, I would reccommend adding a little but of coconut oil to your chocolate chips to help it be more creamy.

I find it easier to melt my chocolate over the stove by using the double boiler method. To do this, bring a small pot of water to a boil. Place the chocolate chips in a glass bowl that fits nicely on top of the pot. Set the bowl on top of the pot with the boiling water and allow the chocolate to melt. Once it is fully melted, turn the heat down to low and begin dipping your Oreo balls into the chocolate.

Why Is Consuming Protein Important?

  • Protein is nutrient-rich, so it helps you stay fuller longer. You are more likely to eat less when you have high protein meals because you won’t have the munchies!
  • It boosts your metabolism & increases fat burning.
  • It increases muscles & strength. If you are lifting weights and not eating enough protein, you aren’t going to see much of a difference!
  • It lowers your blood pressure.

How Do You Store Leftovers?

You can honestly keep these in the fridge for a while before they go bad if they last you that long! I put my leftovers in an airtight container without any Oreo topping. If you are topping your dessert with a cookie, don’t put that on top until you are ready to enjoy your cookies butter or it will get soggy!
