I love making shrimp tacos because shrimp cooks so fast! These are a great weeknight dinner. The homemade avocado lime crema really tops these tacos off but you can also use this crema as a dip! You can make these tacos as spicy as you would like by adjusting the chili powder & jalapenos.

Reasons to Love These Tacos

  • Quick & Easy: This super and easy to make and require very simple ingredients and equipment. I love me some one pan meals! I love those complicated looking dishes that are actually so easy to make.
  • Macros/Nutritious: Shrimp is very low in calories and high in protein! There are 24 grams of protein per 4 ounces of shrimp and under 130 calories!

Nutritional Benefits

  • Shrimp: Shrimp is probably my favorite protein no joke. Shrimp is so low in calories but packed with protein! It is also a great source of iodine, phosphorus, zinc, and magnesium.
  • Avocado: Avocados are a great source of vitamins C, E, K, and B6. Avocados also contain high levels of healthy, beneficial fats, which can help you feel fuller between meals.

Taco Elements/Garnishes

Here are some of my favorite elements to have with these tacos:

  • Shredded cabbage – Or lettuce of choice.
  • Flour or corn tortillas of choice – I used corn and warmed them up on a skillet before serving.
  • Cilantro – To top your tacos with.
  • Lime Wedges – I love topping these tacos off with some fresh lime juice!

How To Make Them

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine your shrimp and seasonings. Allow to marinate while you make you avocado crema and prepare your other taco ingredients.
  2. Place all of the ingredients for the avocado crema in a large food processor. Purée on high until creamy and there are no more lumps.
  3. Preheat a large skillet (I used a Hexclad Hybrid 14 inch Wok) over medium/high heat with a light drizzle of olive oil. Add in your shrimp and cook until fully cooked, about 7 minutes.
  4. Assemble your tacos with some shredded cabbage, shrimp, and avocado crema. Top with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice. Enjoy!

My Taco Holders

I have gotten a MILLION question on Instagram of where my taco holders are from! They are the absolute best! I love them because they are dishwasher friendly and come in a pack of 6 so they are perfect for a family or group! They just really enhance the whole taco eating process haha! These are from Amazon and you can find them here!

How To Store Leftovers

You can store your leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. When you are ready to enjoy them again, just pop the shrimp in the microwave for 45 seconds or so and assemble your tacos! The shrimp reheats great.
